“ The best steak or chicken in Oregon! Such a fun place! Bring your appetite the portions are giant! The service is very friendly and the bread and salad is amazing! Great spot to bring the entire family or party!!!!! Must go ”
“ What a great experience. The food is good. I especially loved the beans! Lots of leftovers so bring a cooler! The ambience is amazing to go along with the history of the place. It's a yearly visit for me. ”
“ I have never driven an hour each way from where I was staying for a dinner.....until today. This restaurant is worth every bit of hype or publicity. Yes, the meals are huge and you are virtually guaranteed to have leftovers. You have to declare your entree when you make reservations (6-8 weeks out). Steaks are cooked to medium rare (as they should be), chickens are 3-4 pounds and the sides that come with the dinner are fabulous. The rolls reminded me of what my grandmother made when I was young (you can order an extra tray when making your reservation for $2). The quality of the locally raised beef is better than most USDA Prime on the market, and the flavor is rich! Chickens are seasoned and prepped the night before. I think the remoteness and ambiance of the restaurant adds to the experience. If you can stay in Central Oregon so you're an hour each way, you have to do this even if it's just once. I know I'll be returning every chance I get! ”
“ They say come hungry for a reason. This place is an experience you don't want to miss. (put it on your bucket list of restaurants to visit). The food is all homemade. It has a very simple menu with only two choices for dinner. 1. Whole Chicken or 2. A Big 30 oz Ribeye Steak. And that's just the main dish The homemade rolls are the best I have ever had. The Cowboy beans were excellent. The berry shortcake was also excellent I had the homemade pink lemonade that was served in a one quart mason jar. The service and staff were great. And the Atmosphere could not be any better for the area and its history. There is a reason you leave happy! YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION A FEW MONTHS IN ADVANCE! ”
“ We love this little spot. Year after year and love seeing Amy. She's so good to us. Make sure and order extra rolls. And we love taking home some of their ranch dressing too. Now we look forward to the left overs for the next 2-3 days. Make a reservation soon. It's worth every penny. Make sure and give Otis and Bear some pets! ”
“ Finally made it to eat here as it had been on my list for years. After arriving we were seated quickly and sat down to enjoy the ambiance. Staff was friendly and it was a fun dining experience all around. Loved the ranch dressing and rolls, steaks were flavorful and enjoyed the chicken more than I thought I would. Dessert was delicious as was the lemonade. Well worth the drive and reasonably priced for what you get. ”
“ Up for a 3 hour drive? Um, HELL YEAH! We come here every couple of years. Massive portions: steak/chicken, bean soup, salad w/homemade ranch or honey mustard, rolls, pink lemonade and mixed berry shortcake and cream. I could wax poetic about the food and what it tastes like, but one single word says it all, PERFECTION! We ate a ton of juicy chicken and steak AND still are taking home 2 meals.. No need to post pictures. The menu does NOT change and other Yelpers took some great ones. This 2nd generation restaurant does the "middle of nowhere" proud! Kind and warm servers (ours was the owner), happy hum of chatter in a TINY space. Don't let the $45/person scare you. It's worth a happy belly and an even happier soul. Thanks CDT!!! ”
“ The Cowboy Dinner Tree is an old school steak house straight out of the back lot of a Bonaza episode. You really feel like Little Joe is going to walk over and ask how your meal is going. I like the cowboy/western vibe. The portions are - well, Fred Flinstone sized. The service is amazing - kind, sincere, attentive, and always smiling. Is this a high-end Ringside steak experience? Nope. Is it geniunely enjoyable and worth the drive. Without a doubt! ”
